About Pest Animal Removal Bergen County and Our Services:
If you have had a problem with New Jersey squirrels in your home or you know someone that has had problems
then you know that they can be a real mess. Squirrels get into everything and once they have
made a home they become very difficult to get out. They are one of the more difficult little
vermin remove once they have made themselves a fixture in your home.
If you thought squirrels presented a challenge, then Bergen County flying squirrels are a real mess. These little
creatures are able to move more freely and are able to reach into many places in your home more
easily than the common squirrel you are used to. This can quickly turn your beautiful home into a
terrible nightmare.
While they may be difficult to get rid of, it is not impossible to do so. There are some ways that you
can remove these beasts and get them out of your home or off your New Jersey property. It just takes a little work
on your part. The first place to begin is to start by inspecting your attic to see if there are any flying
squirrels that are present. The attic is one of the favorite places of these creatures, so this should be
the place that you want to begin. Don't just look to see if their creatures are there either. They will do
all they can to hide because that is what Bergen County squirrels do. You need to make sure you don't see any droppings
or don't smell anything that seems out of the norm for an attic.
Next look to see if you find places that look ideal for a Bergen County squirrel to get in. Look for loose boards, holes
in your siding, or cracks that could make the ideal place to get in. The easiest way to get rid of these pests
is to trap them. This means you want to mount some kind of repeater trap near the exit hole they are using to
get out of your home. This is a one-way trap that lets them get into the trap but they are not able to get out
of the trap itself. If you find that there are a few different entry points then you want to put a trap at the
exit hole of each of those traps. If you find there are several places they are using for entryways, then it is
important to block a few of those first to limit the number of traps you have to set up. You could set up a trap
at every location, but this takes time and money, and may cost you far more than you need to spend. The more
sensible decision is to just give them a few exit points so you can trap them this way. Traps can usually hold
8 to 10 New Jersey squirrels so three or four traps should be plenty enough.
You can also look at using repellants, but you should understand that these have some limitations. Most repellants
work by causing the vermin to suffer because of the chemicals that are put in them. You can also make homemade
repellants using hot sauce or jalapeno peppers that will keep the New Jersey flying squirrels away as well. Place this around
areas you know the creatures are commonly found and let the repellant do the rest. One little taste and they will
be quite unhappy.
